Cast of family-friendly sketch comedy TV show and YouTube sensation “Studio C” perform for a sold–out live audience with ticket proceeds to benefit Make-A-Wish®

August 24, New York, NY – BYUtv, a family entertainment network, original sketch comedy series, “Studio C,” presented “Studio C – Live from NYC” hosted by Emmy-nominated “Saturday Night Live” star Kenan Thompson on Fri., Aug. 24. Two live comedy shows took place in front of sold-out audiences in New York City at Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom. The shows were filmed for a one hour television special that will air as the ninth season premiere of “Studio C” on BYUtv, Mon., Sept. 10 at 7pm MT and will repeat at 10pm MT.

The proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Metro New York, the organization that creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Fans can visit BYUtv.org/studiocnyc to find the most up-to-date information about the “Studio C – Live from NYC” event.

“Studio C – Live from NYC” presented all-new sketches featuring the fan-favorite cast. Kenan Thompson, who is the longest-running cast member in the history of “Saturday Night Live,” joined the cast in hilarious sketches, in addition to hosting the event.

“Studio C,” an original scripted comedy show that reaches a national audience by balancing irreverence with family-appropriate fun, has over 1 billion views on YouTube. The show plays off of widely relatable topics, offering comic perspective on commonplace scenarios—from ethical dilemmas and quirky relatives to roommate and friendship quandaries, video gaming angst and heartbreak – and weighs in on pop culture. It’s irreverent humor that the whole family can enjoy without parents needing to send the kids from the room or cover their eyes and ears.

Emmy-nominated actor/comedian Kenan Thompson will return this fall for his 16th season on “Saturday Night Live.” He has made numerous contributions to the show with his slew of hilarious impressions that include Rev. Al Sharpton, Charles Barkley and Steve Harvey, along with many memorable characters.
